10 places to visit in Victoria these holidays

At Mantello Suzuki Roxburgh Park we’re beyond excited for the summer holidays. From spending time with loved ones at Christmas, to seeing the new year in, there’s so much fun to be had. We also love heading out on the road to explore new places in Victoria, which is why we’ve compiled our top 10 favourite spots to visit.

It’s not just fun SUVs like the Jimny that are perfect for a road trip or weekend away. Whether you have a Swift or an S-Cross, a Baleno or an Ignis, there’s a Suzuki for every journey.

1.    Phillip Island

Whether you’re after some penguin-watching or beach time, Phillip Island has so much to offer. Take the family for some penguin watching at dusk – there are viewing platforms that allow you to see all the goings on of these cute little creatures. With idyllic beaches and so much natural scenery to take in, you won’t regret a trip here this summer.

2.    Echuca

How about getting away from the hustle and bustle this Christmas and New Year and head to Echuca and the Murray River? The quiet town of Echuca is 214 km from Melbourne and houses the country’s largest fleet of paddle steamers. Take a lunch cruise or a half-day adventure before heading to the Great Aussie Beer Shed. You’ll leave feeling relaxed and ready to take on whatever 2022 has to offer.

3.    The Grampians

There are so many reasons to visit The Grampians during the summer holidays. From its wide array of native plants and animals to its cave art-filled history and burgeoning food and drink scene. Sit back, relax and take in the beauty.

4.    Mornington Peninsula

Mornington Peninsula is especially amazing during the summer holidays in Victoria when the sun is likely to come along for the ride too. Famed for its wineries, cherries, berries and other produce, it’s also a popular beach destination.

Why not pack up your Vitara and venture forth with complete confidence, the luxury of cutting-edge car technology and enough cargo space for everyone’s stuff? This SUV was made for summer road trips.

5.    Healesville

Whether you’re after a day trip or a weekend away, Healesville is a great place to take your Suzuki for a spin. Check out Healesville Sanctuary and get up close and personal with kangaroos, emus, koalas and wombats. Alternatively, its buzzing food and wine scene is something that’s a must for every gastronomy lover.

6.    Gippsland

Whatever part of Gippsland you decided to head for, there’s so much to explore. There are the stunning, rugged beaches, the endless coastline and the Tarra Bulga National Park for the tree-lovers out there. And, if you’re feeling thirsty, there are plenty of wineries to discover – from Toms Cap to the gorgeous Blue Gables.

7.    Grampians

Whether you want to relax or find adventure this festive season, the Grampians has all the ingredients for your perfect festive holiday. It has scenic diversity, colourful flowers, jaw-dropping waterfalls and plenty of native birds to spot.

8.    Geelong & the Bellarine

If you’re looking for a taste of coastal life this Christmas and Boxing Day, Geelong & the Bellarine is a great option. How about Christmas Day on Geelong’s waterfront? Alternatively, check out the Bellarine Taste Trail – with cool climate wine, casual cafes and elegant restaurants.

9.    High Country

Ever spent New Year’s Eve in Victoria’s High Country? Summers here are full of local brews, unmatched scenery and alpine ambience. Nothing says summer like splashing around in High Country lakes and pools!

10.  Port Fairy

Right at the end of the Great Ocean Road is a charming village called Port Fairy. It looks just like a postcard – with stone cottages, towering pine trees and a stunning waterfront. There is plenty of birdlife as well as the chance to see whales cruising along the coast – if you’re lucky.

Where will you head over the holidays?

Victoria has so much to offer – whether you’re hoping for a relaxing day trip or an adventurous weekend away – where will you head over the holidays this year?
