Suzuki Swift – What an Icon

The Suzuki Swift has long been a favourite city car with Australian buyers. With its compact size, sharp looks, outstanding fuel economy and affordable price point, it’s no wonder Aussies love it.

The evolution of an icon

Suzuki first launched the Swift in 1983. Back then, it was called the Suzuki Cultus.

After numerous name changes, engine upgrades and exterior adjustments, the new Swift arrived on the market in 2000 to replace the Cultus in Japan; throughout the rest of the world, the new model was called the Ignis.

The all new EZ Swift was launched in 2004. This new model was the official first generation of the Swift in the iconic shape and modern style that we know today. Its compact size and high performance made it a hugely popular car, with Suzuki sales in Australia from 2004 to 2005 doubling with the landing of this new Swift.

Since then, the Suzuki Swift has maintained its recognisable presence but continued to evolve into a sporty, powerful, five-door hatch, ideal for navigating the urban landscape effortlessly in comfort and style.

Where is the Swift now?

The Suzuki Swift 2022 model is no exception to the rule: head-turning looks, jam-packed with tech features, and state-of-the-art safety functions.

Available in Swift GL S and GL S Plus, the latest arrival to the Swift lineup is sure to impress.

Here’s a quick glance at some of the features of the new Swift:

      1.2L Dualjet engine

9-inch multimedia touch screen with Bluetooth, USB, voice control, steering wheel control, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity

      Reverse camera

      16-inch alloy wheels

      Automatic LED lights.

GL S Plus models also include a host of advanced safety features, including:

      Adaptive cruise control

      Autonomous emergency braking

      Lane departure warning

      Weaving alert

      Blind-spot monitoring

      Rear cross-traffic alert

      Reverse parking sensors.

For those who are after something a bit zippier, the Suzuki Swift GLX Turbo and Swift Sport models offer a little extra in terms of torque and sporty feel:

      Boosterjet engine

      6-speed transmission with paddle shifters

      Electronically folding door mirrors

     17-inch alloy wheels (Swift Sport)

Plus all the advanced safety features of the Swift GLS Plus.

Australia’s best-value hatch

The Suzuki Swift Sport is Australia’s best-value hatch. Loaded with all the features you could want in a sporty, compact hatchback, at a competitive price point.

Easy to drive and with lots of power for its small size, this striking car is engineered with performance and drivability in mind.

Your dollar drives you further in a Swift

This hatch is excellent value for money when it comes to fuel economy. Suzuki Swift fuel consumption per 100km averages at 4.8L (for automatic models). You’ll need just 37L of fuel (recommended minimum 91 unleaded or E10) to fill the tank, translating to around 770km of drive!

A reliable hatchback you can depend on

Proven dependability and a five-star ANCAP safety rating are always good news. New Suzuki Swift models are equipped with cutting-edge technology to help reduce the risk of a collision, and six airbags as standard to protect you and your loved ones.

Additionally, all new Suzuki vehicles come with a 5-year/unlimited kilometre warranty, for your peace of mind. Roadside Assist is also included for 5 years when you service your car through an authorized Suzuki dealer.
